The new Peugeot 5008 is now a SUV.  Question is, can the 2017 Peugeot 5008 tow?

Considering the popularity of SUVs, Peugeot has decided to turn their 5008 people mover into a seven-seat SUV.

Styling may be a subjective thing but the 5008 certainly stands out on the road, offering particularly distinctive front and side profiles. Distinctively shaped headlamps and Peugeot’s signature LED running lights give the 5008 a substantial, mature look. At the other end, the tail lamps incorporate three vertical LED lines, a touch intended to resemble the image of a lion’s claws.

Its move to a higher ground-clearance and the look of a 4x4 (even if the 5008 is only available as a front-wheel drive car) means the stigma of an MPV is no more.

So while the 5008 improves on the previous generation’s practicality levels thanks to clever design work, it is also appealing to families looking for stylish transport for a family of four or five, with occasional seating for a total of seven.

The 5008 introduces advanced technology such as Peugeot’s ‘i-Cockpit’ virtual dashboard, which replaces conventional gauges with a display that can be configured to show the information you want.

The move away from the MPV theme has also been translated into an improvement in the driving experience for the 5008.

The overall feel is that of a solid and well-developed car with good grip and predictable manners. Ride comfort is first-rate with all but the most severe potholes and bumps absorbed without fuss.

As for safety features, the 5008 features a wide range of standard and optional features such as Advanced Grip Control with Hill Assist Descent Control, AEB, Distance Alert, Active Lane Keeping Assistance, Driver Attention Warning, Smart Beam Assistance, Speed Sign Recognition and Speed Suggestion, Adaptive Cruise Control with stop feature, Active Blind Spot Monitoring, Park Assist and Visio Park 360-degree camera view.

The new 5008 utilises the PSA Group's new EMP2 platform, which has been stretched 165mm longer than the 3008, and 110mm wider than the 5008's van predecessor.

Peugeot says the long wheelbase of the 5008 will make it one of the most practical SUVs in its class. Not only will it have seven seats, but the second row will also consist of three separate chairs that can adjust and fold individually or accommodate a child seat. When you don’t need the third-row seats, they stow flat in the boot floor.  The boot is vast: 952 litres behind the second row of seats. Pull a little lever, and you can even remove seats six and seven, freeing up two more pockets of 40 stowage litres. Stripped down in this way and with the middle three seats folded, it expands to 2150 litres.

Can it tow?  The chassis is rated to tow up to 2000 kgs, with 100kgs on the nose.

You guessed it; we have a full range of Peugeot 5008 towbars, ready for immediate shipping.

Hi, I am not able to get Peugeot Australia confirm the noseweight limit. Can I ask where you source your figure from?
