The new Kia Sorento is causing a stir. A new interior design with a much more streamlined, better looking tech system and new exterior as well, and this seven-seat SUV has really stepped up a notch. Can the new Kia Sorento MQ4 tow?  Need a towbar for your 2021 Sorento?

The fourth generation of Kia’s popular Sorento SUV is the first vehicle to be based on Kia’s new-generation ‘N3’ SUV platform. It is wider and than its predecessor and sits on a longer wheelbase so can accommodate seven people in comfort.

Even with all seven seats in place, boot space is 32 percent larger than the superseded Sorento.

The exterior has had a total workover and is now, suddenly, cool. It’s less beefy than the previous model, sleeker and more modern.

The biggest improvement, compared to the previous model, is the lack of buttons on the centre console. This whole area used to be quite messy with multiple buttons and now it’s clean and modern. Everything has been simplified which means it’s also easier to use. To avoid squabbling over who’s charging up what, all three rows of seats have USB ports to plug phones and tablets into.

It’s a sizeable car, inside and out, so it feels spacious sitting in the front. There’s loads of leg and head room, and plenty of room between the passenger and the driver. Second row great for adults, only kids will have fun getting into the 3rd row though.

Space in the boot with the third row in use, the space is only 187L but it’s still an improvement on the old model.  With the third row down you’ll get a very large 616L.  Using all the seats and going on a trip, why not fit a Sorrento towbar to increase luggage space of just take some bikes along.   

How much can the new Sorento tow?  Kia has rated the MQ4 at a max of 2500kgs - not bad.
