The updated VW T-Roc is a huge improvement on the inside and has a more modern look.  Can the new T-Roc tow? What is the maximum towing capacity? Need a VW T-Roc towbar?

Since its launch in 2017 over one million T-Rocs have been sold worldwide.  VW has updated the successful SUV hoping to continue the success.
The T-Roc gives you a high driving position for that ‘real’ SUV feeling, which is something some other small SUVs lack.

The most noticeable change to the exterior are the lights.  There is the lighting strip along the bonnet, that is taken from the Golf. The larger triangular fog lights make the T-Roc look more masculine.
From front to rear, the T‑Roc impresses with its newly designed light design. The characteristic LED daytime running lights and modern, darkened tail light clusters catch the eye from a distance. As an option, the illuminated radiator grille gives the striking front a special look. Two further highlights: the background lighting at the front in the interior and a logo projection with SUV signature, which illuminates the entrance area as an eye-catching effect when the front doors are opened. The dark red tail light clusters provide a modern finish and are also optionally available with dynamic turn signals, where an animated light strip acts as a direction indicator.

Naturally, an array of new colours and alloys is also now available.

Volkswagen has significantly improved the interior design with a soft-touch dash, the door trim is now fabric as standard, or leather-like the higher spec models.
Digital dials now come with each new T-Roc.  The Digital Cockpit summarises all the information relevant to you in the T‑Roc on a 20.3 cm (8-inch) colour display with attractive graphics. Using the multifunction steering wheel, you can therefore conveniently access functions such as audio, telephony or assist systems via the instrument cluster while driving.

Also, an upgraded tablet-like infotainment system has been introduced, unfortunately, it means classic climate controls are a thing of the past. Available in 8 inches as standard, or 9.2 inches on the higher models,  wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard. You can also choose an optional Beats Audio sound system.

We cannot forget a new driver assistance system, which includes optional predictive cruise control, that is assisted steering, braking and acceleration.  Every T-Roc receives lane assist, front assist and emergency warning/braking that includes pedestrian detection.

Surprisingly boot space is more than the Golf, 445 litres, and with seats folded 1,290 litres - these figures are for the FWD versions.  Due to the rear drive, the 4WD variant reduces boot space to 392 litres and 1,237 litres with folded seats. There is an adjustable boot floor that makes it possible to sit parallel with the boot lip, making loading and unloading your groceries easier.

Need more space or to take your bikes along on a weekend trip?  Why not fit a VW T-Roc towbar?  VW has rated the new T-Roc for a maximum of 2065 kgs, depending on your actual specs.  Our T-Roc towbar is rated the same.

There are a few power trains to choose from, starting with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder unit with 109bhp, the 148bhp 1.5 TSI 150 T-Roc has extra power to make overtaking easier, the final petrol engine lets you opt for the more powerful 2.0 TSI 190 engine with 4Motion four-wheel drive. It can officially sprint from 0-62mph in 6.8secs.
If you prefer diesel, the 113bhp 2.0 TDI 115 is solid, while the 148bhp 2.0 TDI 150 has more pulling power and is available with an automatic gearbox, as well as four-wheel drive. If you tow a caravan, the 2.0 TDI 150 makes the most sense, because it has the largest towing capacity.

The updated T-Roc is now one of the most comfortable cars in the small SUV class, while its spacious interior and big boot should appeal to young families. The high driving position is definitely something SUV buyers crave – and the new T-Roc has that covered.

If you decide on the new VW T-Roc, don't forget to add to the practicality by fitting a VW T-Roc towbar, order today.
