Toyota's New-4th Gen Yaris is on the roads. But can the new Yaris tow? Need a Yaris towbar?

Toyota's New-4th generation compact car surpasses its class by offering driving pleasure, the world's highest level of fuel efficiency, and advanced security and safety technology.  But can the new Yaris tow? Need a Yaris towbar?

It’s bigger, far safer and more feature-filled than the ageing city car it replaces.
It's on the safety front where the tiny Yaris really shines, with the brand boldly declaring it the world's safest city car. 

The new Yaris measures 3940mm in length, 1695mm in width and 1505mm in height, and rides on a 2550mm, making it a bigger car than the vehicle it replaces. It will also serve up some 270 litres of luggage space with the 60:40 rear seats in place.

In interior design terms, Toyota has partly reinstated the playful atmosphere the Yaris was once known for – the ‘binocular’ dial arrangement within the instrument binnacle and curvaceous dashboard moulding are two obvious examples – but it has also injected some class into the cabin. It isn’t difficult to find hard plastics but interesting new fabrics, softer plastics and rubberised surfaces have been deployed among the various surfaces and storage cubbies.

Can the new Yaris tow?  Depending on your version and location the Yaris has been rated by Toyota from 450kgs- 850kgs.  Please double check your vehicles tow rating! Toyota has not rated all Yaris models to tow - if no rating, you can still use the towbar to mount a ball mounted bike carrier and lug those bikes around on weekend trips.
