This is the seventh generation of the iconic 4x4, which civilians could purchase from 1945 -WWII edition. The JK has been around since 2006, finally a generational shift - the JL Wrangler has arrived with a significant lift in technology, features and refinement.

 

The new Jeep Wrangler is available both two-door and long-wheelbase four-door versions.

 

With its boxy proportions and hallmark seven-slot grille, the 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL looks like its predecessor.  But in fact, it is actually 95 per cent new - though doesn't look it.  Everything from the ladder frame, bodywork, interior, engines and eight-speed automatic gearbox, even the windscreens are new.

 

The new Wrangler is claimed to weigh 91kg less on average (kerb weights ranging between 1762-2160kg), helping make it 13 per cent more fuel-efficient.

 

What really sets the new Jeep Wrangler JL apart from its predecessors, is its new-found refinement on-road. Here the ride quality is excellent, road noise is well suppressed and handling dynamics have drastically improved. A sign of the times - seems 4x4s are now used in cities more than the bush - the customer is king so hence the improvements.  Do not get us wrong, the Wrangler remains unique by still sticking firmly to its off-road roots.

 

So how much can the new Jeep Wrangler actually tow?  Well depends on your exact specs, but the two-door has a rating of at least 1497kgs and the four-door 2495kg.   Our towbars are rated at 2600kgs to give you peace of mind.
