The all-electric MG ZS EV facelift model is now on sale with a bigger battery, fresh exterior design and revised technology. Its aesthetics won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, as the removal of the front grille seems to be a love or hate thing.  It does look more modern than its predecessor and will turn heads. New LED headlights and a fresh rear bumper all included.

Standard equipment even in base models is impressive - 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, adaptive cruise control and integrated sat-nav with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The MG ZS EV is 4,323mm long and 2,048mm wide (including wing mirrors but 1,809mm excluding them). Height depends on trim, with base models 1,625mm tall versions with roof rails are 1,649mm.

The interior has also received a redesign.  MG ZS EV's interior still isn't as posh as other, for the price it's hard to find major faults with the value EV proposition from MG.
Gladly MG has not incorporated touch-sensitive controls, The ZS EV has retained the use of physical climate and media controls - everything is easy to find and use - placed just where you expect.

A new 10.1-inch infotainment system brings the MG ZS EV up to date, with Apple CarPlay and Android Android smartphone mirroring as standard across the range.

There’s also a fully digitalized instrument cluster. The driver’s display provides all the key information.

Like many electric cars, the ZS EV is brilliantly easy to drive. Turn it on, select drive with the simple rotary controller, press the accelerator pedal and you’re away. The driving mode selector is equally straightforward and helps drivers prioritise between efficiency and performance.   City driving is nice and easy, thanks to the immediate availability of acceleration, darting away from traffic lights and out of intersections is stress-free. Furthermore, a toggle switch in the centre console is used to adjust the amount of regenerative braking applied when a driver lifts off the throttle.

Long Range models come with a single electric motor powering the front wheels that produces 154bhp and 280Nm of torque. The result is a 0-100 time of 8.2 seconds

The MG ZS EV has a claimed range of 320km between charges.  In terms of charging, the new ZS EV can 'fill up" at a rate of 80kW on DC, allowing a five to 80 per cent charge time in just under an hour, or an impressive 11kW on a slower AC charger, allowing a charge time in the region of four hours.

Great bang for your buck with a load of standard safety features and driver assistance technology. These include an emergency braking system (with pedestrian and cyclist detection), the higher range models also get Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist.
