“ Fitment of this towbar is not for the faint-hearted. In the hands of a competent workshop, however, it will be straightforward. It comprises two kits: - the mechanical parts including all nuts, bolts, brackets, etc; and - the electrical wiring loom, control box and relevant parts. All required parts were supplied and detailed instructions, although very cryptic with symbolic diagrams rather than text, were accurate for the work to be done. The end result is definitely worth the cost and effort. It produces a result that is appropriate and befitting the image and status of the vehicle. Note that when there is nothing being towed or mounted on the towbar, the car's features and functions such as Active PDC Emergency Braking at the rear, reverse crossing traffic alarm, bootlid auto opening with kick sensor, etc, continue to work as normal. If you mount a bike or connect a trailer then obviously anything that relies on use of sensors at the rear will not function as normal.  „

Installation instructions ordinary, thankfully Skoda have an excellent body work document that covers everything related to body parts assembly and disassembly. The included towbar electronics components look good BUT installation instructions are incomprehensible! Not sure about this latter process! „

“ I live on the mid-north coast of NSW and own a Mini Cooper Hatch. I wanted a towbar and the ONLY help that I could get was from Etowbars. Eventually I was able to find an installer locally so that I wouldn't need to drive to Sydney for installation so I ordered and paid for my towbar online. To my surprise the payment was made to Gdansk in Poland and I was given a tracking number. To my surprise I followed my towbar across Europe from Poland via Cologne, Charles de Gaulle (Paris), Singapore, Sydney and ten days later it arrived on my front doorstep. Brilliant!!!! My towbar has been installed - it fitted perfectly. “ The towbar is excellent - a strong and robust bit of kit that’s already seen action. Removing and replacing the hitch is easy, and the added security of a key lock gives peace of mind. With the tow hitch removed, and the lighting socket swung up under the bumper valance, it’s very difficult to see that there was ever a towbar fitted. The installation process turned into a bit of a saga (hence 4 stars, not 5), but everything was ultimately sorted. Overall, we’re very happy with our new towbar. „

Getting a tow bar for an electric car certainly is challenging when most distributors/manufacturers have not created such an option for many vehicles. So I was very happy to hear that your product was available and it’s proved to be the perfect application in our situation to put heavy electric mountain bikes onto the back of our car. “ As promised, the permanently attached receiver is totally concealed. I will need to practice the process of attaching and removing the detachable hitch portion in order to do it as quickly as I'd like. This product is ingeniously designed and of high quality. Have now used it several times, removing and replacing the outer portion each time. It's not cheap, but the car is too pretty to sandbag the appearance with something conspicuous & ugly. We're pleased.  „

“ I was quite happy with the arrival of the Tow bar, the installation was carried out by the 2 man fitting crew in cheerfully manner & happy to discuss the fitment of the bar, and demonstrate its use. I have yet to attach my caravan , which is 1.5 tonnes loaded with a weight at the tow ball of 75Kgs, the bar is rated at 1.8 tonnes, along with My BMW which would be within specifications, however with my previous vehicles have used Evans Bros & Hayman Reece revelling systems with this Van, my concern is that, if the vehicles have are unbalanced in their alignment, is there a leveling system available to be used with his tow bar?. “ Very happy with the Towbar . It’s exactly what I wanted . There are two points that you , as manufacturer may wish to consider . 1. The small red key is very fragile particularly when you remove the ball . The ball being a heavy object wants to fall to the ground upon removal and the key can be damaged . ( I broke one key when the metal part snapped off when the bar hit the ground upon removal . It could be a stronger 100% metal key . 2. The fitting of the safety chain to the anchor point is a very difficult manoeuvre. You have to get under the vehicle to connect it and it takes time to fiddle around connecting the “u” bolt to the bracket and locking in the grub screw . Is there a trick to this ? Because I don’t like to see the tow ball I need to remove and refit on a regular basis …. Otherwise everything is great . John Lee. „

“ Bought for my 2014 Touareg with delivery around 7 days to Tasmania. Fitted easily by removing the rear bumper and lights from my car, you can find videos on line on how to do this. Comes with all the necessary bolts, washers etc to make fitting easy with the bolt holes lining up perfectly. There are 2 small locating lugs on the car used for the bumper support that is removed to fit this tow bar. You have to cut these lugs off using a small grinder then touch up with some paint. This can not be seen once the tow bar is fitted to the car as the mount points hide it. I didn't use the electronic kit supplied as my car already had the VW 13 pin tow package fitted. The unit is basically invisible from behind without the tow ball fitted which is what I wanted as I only tow occasionally. Very neat and tidy. „

“ I purchased a 2016 Mercedes GLE350d as a replacement for a weary 2005 Pajero. A part of the role was to tow a trailer for the odd weekend dump trip and to pull a 5.2 metre boat for some weekend getaways. After a week of tow bar research, I decided on the D 50v with vehicle specific wiring harness. I called my local Benz service specialist who then flatly refused to install this tow bar (or any tow bar) on my GLE. After driving 350ks to the next town, The Benz dealer in Rockhampton meticulously installed the D 50v on my GLE in 2.5 hours. My mind felt at ease when I first attached a trailer and received a message on my dash read out informing me that "Blind spot assist has been disabled as a trailer is connected" So the recoding worked. The invisible hitch is a great addition to any GLE, giving me the ability to tow 3500kg's without even noticing a trailer is attached. I would highly recommend this tow bar. „

I booked it in for fitting on the day it came, but the local mobile installer was booked out for 3 weeks, so I cannot comment on performance of the item at this stage. “ A bit worried to buy this towbar as I struggled to find anyone who had installed it on a Stinger. But I was encouraged by the minimalist setup as I didn’t want to butcher the back of the car to make a towbar fit. Send out without issue, they arranged a fitter for me who was exceptional, really looked after the car and consulted me all the way to completion (Towbars Xpress). It’s definitely the most discrete bar I could find. More hidden than the Kia OEM bar as the hole is much smaller and further under the car. Could not be happier and it’s invisible when looking at the back of the car unless you are on the floor. Exactly what I wanted. „
